We visited Italy and stayed in an ancient 12th century farmhouse, in Arezzo. It was a fantastic experience to see the old buildings with wine chambers still in use after 800 years. In the house I found the terracotta bust of a little girl and decided to paint a still life combining the roses in the garden, with the delicate sculpture of the girl. It always transports me back to the old farmhouse deep in the Arezzo forest.
